DESCRIPTION:Landlords & Contractors – Come and learn everything you need to know about the changes to the lead law requirements in Rhode Island. These changes are going to cost money to implement and cities and towns will be looking for compliance from Landlords. Unless exempt from lead mitigation\, all Landlords must now register on line with DOH. $50 per month per unit if not registered. $125 per month per unit if not in compliance with lead mitigation. In order to register\, you must have your lead certificates. The new requirements allow tenants to withhold their rent for non-compliance. Evictions for Non Payment will now require lead certificates to be submitted with paperwork as part of the court case. Come and find out how this law will affect you.
